News 2010
- ISMRM 2010 : Congratulations to Prof. Matthias Stuber, director of the CIBM-CHUV core, for receiving the 'Fellow Award' for 'significant and substantial contributions to research in a field within the Society's purposes' at the annual meeting of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine, in Stockholm !
- A recent research performed at the CIBM using its 7 Tesla scanner has resulted in a publication featured on the cover of Radiology, the major journal in bio-imaging (March 2010 issue). The paper entitled "Cerebellar Cortical Layers: In Vivo Visualization with Structural High-Field-Strength MR Imaging" is lead by CIBM's Dr José Marques and in collaboration with Dr Cristina Granziera (CHUV, Neurology) and demonstrates in vivo imaging of the human cerebellum at microscopic resolution. The article is commented in an editorial by Prof. Nick Bryan, Head of Radiology, University of Pennsylvania, as having "important clinical implications". Radiology editorial (in PDF file). - Swiss Label, an association devoted to the promotion of Swiss products and services, presents the CIBM in a 'special CHUV' edition of its periodical. Swiss Label article (PDF file).
News 2009
- Congratulations to Dr. Carole Berthet, from the laboratory of Lorenz Hirt, Neurology CHUV, who won a poster prize at the European Stroke Organization's Annual Meeting 2009,where she presented work on experimental stroke using the CIBM's 14T scanner ! Abstract in PDF file.

- A publication in NeuroImage speaks about the brain activity when viewing food images. This study was a collaborative project between the CHUV, the University of Lausanne, the Nestle Research Center and the CIBM with Dr. Micah Murray from the EEG Brain Mapping core. Press release (PDF file)

- Congratulations to Prof. Michael Unser, who has recently be named by the Institute of Scientific Investigation (ISI) a "highly cited researcher", an outstanding distinction, which is now carried (with Prof. Margaritondo) by two core directors of CIBM.

Nov./Dec 2004, decision to purchase a 7 Tesla human magnet and two clinical 3 Tesla scanners (Siemens), a 14.1 Tesla horizontal bore animal magnet (Magnex/Varian) is announced.
- In October/November 2004, the five founding institutions signed the groundbreaking convention cadre, formally creating the CIBM.
- In September 2004, the construction started in the site at the EPFL, to house three MR systems, neurochemical lab, RF laboratory, etc.
- In May/June 2004, responses to an open and fair WTO call for proposals are received and evaluated.
- In April 2004, the CIBM has launched the first steps to procurement of the MR equipment, while the 3 MR sites at the EPFL, CHUV and HUG are being prepared.
